AUO Corporation ("AUO" or the "Company") (TAIEX: 2409; NYSE: AUO) today presents its CSR achievements in 2012, illustrating the fruits and efforts from continuous interaction with all the stakeholders. AUO CSR Report 2012 has been independently verified by a third party, winning GRI/G3.1 Level A+ (1) recognition for six consecutive years. Meanwhile, AUO also met AA1000AS (2) standards six years in a row.

AUO has been devoting an all-out effort to the implementation of corporate social responsibility, maintaining high transparency and credibility in the information disclosure of sustainability indexes including economic, environmental and social aspects. Valuable inputs are gathered from the well-informed stakeholders to proactively develop green and innovative solutions. In 2012, AUO successfully met the target of reducing product carbon footprints by 30%(3). AUO also garnered the first ISO 14045 product eco-footprint certification in the world and its innovative low-carbon packaging design also won the red dot design award.

In terms of education and promotion of green concepts, AUO launched the three-year Green Ark Program in 2012. Apart from continuing to practice green innovation within the Company, AUO helped shape energy-saving and zero waste mindset by organizing school competitions and seminars to share experiences and inspire more young minds. AUO also shared its real-world experience in the hope of prompting the industry to work together for environmental sustainability.

In addition, AUO introduced “AUO Supply Chain CSR Performance Evaluation Scheme” in June 2012. The new scheme goes beyond regulatory and EICC (Electronic Industry Code of Conduct) requirements by setting evaluation standards for five key dimensions. These are designed to encourage suppliers to voluntarily embrace CSR and strive to fulfill CSR obligations together with AUO.

AUO will continue to enhance its performances in CSR initiatives with constant efforts and self-monitoring. For more information, please refer to AUO CSR Report 2012.
