AUO Corporation ("AUO" or the "Company") (TAIEX: 2409; NYSE: AUO) today announced its joint effort with affiliated companies in BenQ Group, who will collectively support BenQ Foundation to donate NT $100 million for disaster relief in the aftermath of tropical storm Morakot, which has caused serious damages to Taiwan, in particular the southern parts of the island.
BenQ foundation also initiates fund-raising, encouraging all employees of the Group to donate money in a bid to provide monetary support for needed people and areas.
Employees of AUO are from various parts of Taiwan and some of their families and loved ones currently reside in the eastern and southern parts of the island that are serious affected by the storm. Managers across all units and functions in AUO have been proactively rendered humanitarian support to employees affected by the storm who can also request extra paid-leaves to return home in helping recovery work.
