AUO has led the industry standard and set an example to perform exceptionally across all dimensions and enhance the management and execution of its overall gender equality policy and sustainable development.

To better direct corporate sustainability development, AUO established a dedicated CSR unit and the position of Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO) in 2018. Led by CSO Amy Ku, the CSR unit aims to visualize the broad sustainability vision throughout the company from various perspectives. Based on United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), AUO defined three EPS (Environment, People and Society) themes focusing on environmental sustainability, inclusive growth and agile innovation to increase awareness of environmental issues and social inclusion and thus developed the 2025 targets. AUO CSO Amy Ku was acknowledged by CSRWorks in its list of Asia's Top Sustainability Superwomen 2020.
