Paul SL Peng
Chairman & Chief Executive Officer
Paul SL Peng is currently Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of AUO. Peng is a seasoned tech industry professional with over thirty years of experience, specializing in a variety of fields across the display industry. He has actively advocated integration and resources sharing of the industry chain, having been honored with the “Outstanding Contribution Award” of Gold Panel Awards 2018. He was also awarded as winner of the first annual “Global Corporate Sustainability Awards (GCSA) - Professional” by Taiwan Institute for Sustainable Energy (TAISE) for his extraordinary efforts in linking corporate sustainable development closely with core operational strategies to pursue CSR targets.
In 1990, Peng worked at BenQ and later headed the Material and Production Department at BenQ's plant in Malaysia. In 1998, he became AUO's Vice President of Supply Chain Management. In 2001, Peng helped establish AUO's Suzhou module plant, the Company's first overseas manufacturing facility as General Manager of the Suzhou site. Having returned to Taiwan in 2005, Peng assumed AUO's sales and marketing function, where he was appointed General Manager of IT Display Business Group. In 2008, he was promoted to Executive Vice President of Global Business Unit, leading TV Business Group, IT Display Business Group, and Consumer Product Business Group. During his tenure, Peng successfully forged alliance with major customers to jointly invest in module plants, deployed globally, and increased overseas shipment outlets. In 2012, he was promoted to President and steered the management team to successfully achieve technology upgrade and product differentiation. Peng was appointed as Chairman of AUO in May 2015.
Peng holds an MBA Degree from Heriot-Watt University, U.K. and honorary degree of Doctor of Business Administration from National Taipei University of Technology.
President & Chief Operating Officer
Dr. Frank Ko is currently AUO's President and Chief Operating Officer. He has extensive experience in the display industry from years of involvement, and is highly familiar with domains as diverse as manufacturing, R&D, marketing, sales and strategy. He was honored with the “Outstanding Contribution Award” of Gold Panel Awards 2019.
Dr. Ko joined AUO in 2000. After several years of work in research and development, LCD manufacturing and integration, and TV displays marketing functions, he headed the TV Display Business Unit in 2005. He was promoted to Associate Vice President in 2007 and Vice President of the TV Display Business Group in 2010. During the period, he had successfully developed customers from major global TV brands, significantly expanded the mainland China market, and led AUO to become the world’s primary supplier of LCD TV panels. In 2011, he served as Vice President of the Technology and Strategic Development Office, and led the development of the Company's technology roadmap and strategic direction. In 2014, he served as Chairman and CEO of E Ink Holdings Inc., focused on new technologies and application development of e-paper, strengthened ecosystem management, and successfully introduced e-paper to diverse and innovative fields of application. Dr. Ko received his PhD degree in Photonics from National Chiao Tung University.
Chief Technology Officer of Technology Group
Wei-Lung Liau is currently Chief Technology Officer (CTO), leading the Technology Group to conduct strategic plans and deployment for the Company’s technological development, coordinating R&D affairs for display product applications and solutions. Liau joined AUO’s manufacturing unit in1998. In 2005, he was appointed to head the LCD Technology Division. He was promoted Associate Vice President of Advanced Display Technology Research Center in 2010, and then served as Associate Vice President of Video Solutions Technology Unit in 2013. Liau was promoted to Vice President in the following year, and appointed to lead Video Solutions Business Group in 2015. In 2018, he was promoted to Senior Vice President and CTO.
Senior Vice President of Manufacturing Group
Mr. Ting-Li Lin is currently Senior Vice President of Manufacturing Group, responsible for global manufacturing affairs. Lin joined AUO’s manufacturing unit in 1998. He was appointed Director of Quality Management in 2008. Then he served as Director of G8.5 fabrication in 2011 and was appointed Associate Vice President of Video Solutions Manufacturing in 2016. In 2018, he was appointed Vice President of Video Solutions Manufacturing, and then Vice President of Manufacturing Group. Lin has well-rounded operation and management experiences in different generations of fabrications, ranging from G3.5, G5, G6, G7.5 to G8.5.
Lin obtained his Master’s degree in Applied Chemistry from National Chiao Tung University in Taiwan.
Senior Vice President of Display Strategy Business Group
James C.P. Chen is currently Senior Vice President of AUO’s Display Strategy Business Group. He joined AUO in 1999 and had served in a variety of functions including R&D, product marketing, and manufacturing. In 2005, Chen was promoted to Associate Vice President of Desktop Display Business Unit, and was appointed Associate Vice President of Information Technology Display Business Group in 2008. In 2009, he was assigned as Senior Associate Vice President of Solar Business Unit and was promoted to Vice President in 2010. He served as Vice President of Mobile Solutions Business Unit in 2016, and then Vice President of Video Solutions Business Unit in 2018. In 2020, he was appointed Vice President of Consumer Application Strategy Business.
Chen received his Master’s degree in Control Engineering from National Chiao Tung University in Taiwan.
Vice President of System and Solution Business
TL Tseng is Vice President of AUO’s System and Solution Business. He joined AUO in 2019, and is in charge of smart solutions for commercial, transportation and industrial applications. Prior to his current position, he was General Manager of Philips ODM in Taiwan, COO and General Manager of the LCD TV and monitor business at TPV Technology, and General Manager of smart solutions business at Qisda. He is familiar with the development of vertical domain applications and has profound management experience.
Tseng obtained his Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from the University of Florida.
Vice President of Energy Business
TY Lin is currently Vice President of AUO’s Energy Business. Lin joined AUO in 1998 and had since then worked in various functions including manufacturing and quality management. In 2008, Lin was appointed Deputy Managing Director of AU Optronics (Suzhou) Corp., in charge of the company’s operation and development. In 2009, he was transferred to BenQ Materials Corp., responsible for the polarizer business. From 2010 to 2015, Lin assumed as President of BenQ Materials Corp. In 2015, he returned to AUO to take the position of Senior Associate Vice President of Video Solutions Product Business Unit, and then of Solar Business. In 2018, Lin was promoted to Vice President of Mobile Solutions Business Group, and then Vice President of Business Group. In 2020, he was appointed Vice President of Energy Business.
Lin obtained his Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering from Chung Yuan Christian University in Taiwan.
Vice President of Strategic Investment & New Business Operations
Andy Yang is currently Vice President of Strategic Investment & New Business Operations of AUO, responsible for the Company’s new business operations as well as strategic investments for corporate development and transformation. Yang joined AUO in 2002 and was promoted to Finance Director of AUO subsidiaries in China and Associate Vice President of Finance Center of AUO in Taiwan. Yang had been AUO’s Chief Financial Officer since 2009, and was appointed Chief Strategy Officer in 2015. Since 2018, he has been the Vice President of Strategic Investment & New Business Operations. At present, he is in charge of AUO’s new business operations, simultaneously holding chairmanship of new business subsidiaries such as S4M, Mega Insight, Edgetech and AUO Care. Before joining AUO, Yang had worked as Assistant Vice President of Corporate Banking of ABN AMRO Bank Taipei Branch. He possesses rich knowledge in global and cross-strait financial operations as well as strategic and investment planning.
Yang received his BBA degree from Department of Finance of National Taiwan University and MBA degree from George Washington University in the U.S.
Chief Financial Officer / Spokesperson
Benjamin Tseng is currently AUO’s Chief Financial Officer. He joined AUO in 2008 as Director of Financial Management and was promoted to Associate Vice President in charge of financing and accounting of AUO’s subsidiaries in China in 2011. He was appointed Associate Vice President of Finance in 2012, and promoted to Chief Financial Officer in 2015. Tseng has extensive professional experiences in financial management and practices, and is thoroughly familiar with the Company’s domestic and international financial operations. Prior to AUO, he worked for Coretronic Corporation as Director of Corporate Development. He also had more than 10 years in ABN AMRO Bank and served as Vice President in Corporate Clients Department.
Tseng received his MBA degree from the University of Rochester in the U.S.
Chief Sustainability Officer
Amy Ku is currently AUO’s Chief Sustainability Officer, responsible for the strategic direction of corporate sustainable development, stakeholder relations and communication, and corporate sustainable culture building and promotion. Ku joined AUO in 2004 as HR Manager of the Lung Tan Site. She was appointed as Director of Corporate HR Strategy Division, and then Associate VP of Executive HR Division. In 2013, she was promoted as the VP of Human Resource Center. In 2018, Ku was appointed as Chief Sustainability Officer of the newly established Sustainability Development.
Ku obtained her Master’s degree in Human Resource Management from National Central University.
